My Purpose: To Know Jesus. After all, Christmas is all about the baby! But, as we hear from Rev. Linda today, there is MUCH more to knowing Jesus than as a baby in the Christmas story. We also need to consider the Easter story of Jesus as our Savior. From baby to man, from man to teacher, from teacher to savior, Jesus is asking each of us “Who do you say that I am?”

We continue to celebrate the season of Advent by lighting the second Advent candle in honor of the baby Jesus.
“Candles are lit in His honor…gifts are given in His honor…people wish one another Merry Christmas in honor of His birth.”
If you are not familiar with the United Methodist traditions of Advent, please take a few moments to learn more and enhance your Advent journey this year.

This Sunday, we also celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion. The meal does not have to be anything special. It was a simple Passover meal to Jesus and the disciples. Whatever bread and drink you have this morning can be used to partake in Communion with us as we get to know Jesus when he tells us to “do this in the remembrance” of me.
