Maple United Methodist Church has a long tradition of reaching out to people in need, while also providing spiritual support for church members. Here's a summary of the programs and services we currently offer.
NE Food Pantry: Monday – Friday 9:00 – 11:45. Housed in our building and operated by the Food Bank of South Central Michigan, the pantry dispenses much needed food to those in need and is the only pantry to supply baby items such as food, formula and diapers.
NA (Narcotics Anonymous) Support Group: Meets daily, Monday through Friday at 12:00 noon.
SHARE Dinners: A free supper prepared and served quarterly to those from the Share Center and the neighborhood. Transportation is provided to and from the Center to the church. (Meals are served the last Saturday of the month in January, April, July, and October.)
UM Connections: Working in collaboration with other United Methodist churches of Battle Creek to offer ministry opportunities and reach out to our community.
Women's Support Group Rummage Sale: Spring and Fall. Clothing, small household items, books, puzzles and games offered at low prices.
Trustee Yard Sale: Spring & Fall.. Larger household items, tools, and yard items for sale.
Women’s Support Group: Women’s group meeting on the second Tuesday of each month at noon for a light lunch and program. The group supports the church with service and financial aid for special mission needs.
All women are invited to attend the meetings for fellowship and sharing. The group does not meet in June, July, or August..
Breakfast Buddies: Meets Tuesday mornings at
8:30 a.m. for breakfast, laughter and fellowship. Location varies--contact us for specific information and the next meeting place..
Golden Maples: A seniors fellowship group for people age 55+ that meets on the third Wednesday of each month for a potluck meal, cards and table games. Does not meet in the summer months (June-August)
Boys of Maple: A loosely organized men's group (created in 2013) that hosts periodic events for the church.
Sojourners: (GROUP MEETS AS NEED ARISES) A support group for cancer patients and their caregivers to provide support and answers to the hard questions raised by cancer. Call church office if you have a need.
